Welcome to the
Detroit Cocker
Spaniel Club,
founded in 1938,
with the intent to
"Better the Breed"
by fostering
interest in and
encouraging the
improvement of
purebred Cocker
Spaniels.
We
are a member of the
American Spaniel
Club since that time
and are a Licensed
Club with the
American Kennel
Club.
The Detroit
Cocker Spaniel Club
has the distinction
of being one of the oldest
Cocker Clubs in the
United States and we
are... proud
of our long history.
Though our
official founding is
1938, and the club
was officially
incorporated on
November, 1946,
interesting
documents in our
files show club
group activity could
have been as early
as 1935.
We currently have
three life members
who have dedicated
more than 25 years
in the support of
the club.
Veronica Gibson
(1980), Lois Fry
(1969) and
Ricki Breen (1967).
We are currently looking for
historical information to be added
to our archives. If you have
any photos, premiums, or memories
that you would like to share please
contact our
Club Secretary.
